CMD Shri Shankar Gupta along with MDs Shri Sajan Gupta, Shri Sunil Gupta and Shri Anil Gupta founded SGBL GROUP in the year 1990. SGBL Group started with a single retail unit selling ready-made school uniforms in Bhubaneswar. This was the entry point of SGBL into the retail sector. Having gained a monopoly in ready-made school uniforms, The Paradise Store, saw a great success and gained a positive reputation and trust of the customer. With the extension in the retail segment in the year 1996, SGBL expanded by venturing into the electronic retail sector. By opening many multi brand electronic retail units across many cities in Odisha, SGBL saw major success in the electronic retail as well.
In 2000, SGBL Group further expanded by increasing the store count by partnering with many reputed national level brands spread across different sectors. One of the first partnership started with The Titan Group, with opening of SGBL’s first store of The World of Titan at Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar. Today SGBL has more than 45 retail franchise stores in Odisha, of reputed brands ranging between, Garments, Watches, Eye wear, Accessories, Luggage, Consumer electronics, FMCG and Automobiles. SGBL has won many awards from different companies by achieving the high targets and performing to great satisfaction of the customer and the company.
SGBL Group ventured into Real Estate business as a developer in the year 2010. Currently, SGBL has a portfolio in Residential, Commercial and Retail projects. Until 2016, SGBL has completed building more than 5,00,000 SQFT and has another 1 Million SQFT of ongoing projects in Odisha.
SGBL Squar is the first multiplex cum shopping mall of Cuttack. With a retail space of more than 100,000 SQFT in midst of the city, SGBL Squar has become a landmark of Cuttack. With many other projects in pipeline, SGBL focuses to deliver the best to its loyal customers.
